קשה להסתדר בארץ?

אהלן,

אני חושב שריבוי המידע על הביקור בארץ - החל מאיך מוצאים את הרכבת בשדה התעופה ועד מהותם של שירותי מוניות הוא טוב בעיקרון, אבל מתחיל כבר להיות מוגזם. זה נשמע כאילו ביקור בארץ הוא מסובך במיוחד וקשה כל כך להסתדר, להגיע ממקום למקום וכיוצא בזה. כשבפועל זה לא המצב - יש שילוט באנגלית, יש שפע דוברי אנגלית, והמדינה באופן כללי היא מדינה מערבית למדי. ככה יוצא שאנחנו משדרים מסר הפוך מזה שאנחנו רוצים לשדר!

אני חושב שחשוב שנדגיש את העובדות האלה, ולא ניתן הנחיות מפורטות כל כך שמשדרות מסר שזו מדינה שלמבקר הזר כל כך קשה להסתדר בה - מה שפשוט לא נכון. אם כולם הצליחו להגיע לכנס בפולין בלי ללכת לאיבוד בערבות פומרניה - אפילו שבקושי היה מידע זמין מהסוג שאתה מעלה, גם אנחנו לא צריכים להשתגע. אם היית נוכח בפגישות כלשהן היית שם לב שהיתה ביקורת רבה על העדר מידע זה, והיתה בקשה מפורשת לפירוט ברמה מסויימת בדבר הסדרי הביטחון. עדיף שאנשים יבואו מוכנים מראש. Deror avi 12:27, 18 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hotels' emails

Hi. I think it's better to use a real at sign (@), and not a picture of it () for the hotels' email addresses. This way people can copy and paste it in order to send emails to the hotels. Deror avi, I am glad to note that you are on the reception desk of Wikimania 2012. Also pleased to see the pictures of the volunteers on the Commons. But one thing I would like to know: Have the names of many on the online volunteers been mentioned in any brochure / report, etc? I , for one, was not physically present for the conference but I translated many of the program files into mainly in Hindi and some in Urdu, created a category of Indian Language Files with files translated into Malayalam in addition to the above two categories. I had also edited some of the other files and templates and even helped some the other volunteers as you can see on the Information Desk (my interaction with Kthoelen). Although volunteers have themselves mentioned their names on the volunteers page, I suggest you, as the General Manager of Wikimania in Haifa initiate steps for making a mention of each online and onsite volunteers on a separate page or please inform about the printed report as asked above.
