Re:Hi

Hi, Harel, thank you. I'm from Brazil, and I was in Gdansk in the last Wikimania, but I'm not sure about the next conferece. Anyway, I want to help some people to get involved with Haifa 2011, now I know how extraordinary this event can be. The wiki about Wikimania 2010 was very helpful to me. I can translate to Esperanto, too, and I hope to do that soon. Regards, Castelobranco 19:11, 22 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Volunteering

Hello Harel! I wanted to ask about volunteering for Wikimania 2011. I have added my name to the offline volunteers list, should anything else be done? Is more information needed, or should I just wait until I am contacted? Thank you very much in advance! --Του Δημήτρη 19:12, 20 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Most offline volunteering will be required at the time of the conference or shortly before it, in Haifa and to some degree in Ben Gurion airport. Are you in Israel? Will you attend the conference? I much appreciate your willingness to volunteer. Harel 09:48, 21 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
No, I am not in Israel, I am in Jordan at the moment, but I have a Russian citizenship, which requires no visa to enter Israel, there won't any problems. I have enough money to travel to, and from Israel, and to stay there for the needed time period. There are daily flights to Tel Aviv. My number one priority is to help run the conference, but if it is possible to attend the conference itself as well, I wouldn't miss the chance. --Του Δημήτρη 10:06, 21 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
OK, understood. Further details about offline volunteering will be published as the conference draws near. It's good that you require no visa to enter Israel, makes it simpler. However as a resident of an Arab country I think you can expect some questioning at the airport or border crossing. Nothing that should stop you, but don't expect it to be totally smooth just because of the Russian citizenship. Harel 10:27, 21 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
No problem, I understand, it is only reasonable. I shall be waiting for more information. Thank you again for your help, it was very helpful. --Του Δημήτρη 10:44, 21 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I'd like to help in person at the event and for some reason I can't add my name to the volunteer list. What should I do? Neo12345292

Typo

Hi, nothing serious, but 'oppurtunity' is misspelled once on http://wmschols.wikimedia.org.il - was wondering if you're able to correct it. Thanks. Mentifisto 19:17, 23 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! I fixed it. Harel 20:20, 23 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Submission problem with :

Hi Harel. These days I've been posting and reposting my submission for Haifa Wikimania "Cultural Configuration: Autoreferentiality...". The thing is that after few hours it disappears and I guess it's cuz of the : in the title of the page. Since I cannot modify the title in this wiki, I would ask you to do it and change it for a ,

Thank you very much!

Hi there. I don't think it disappears at all - I see it there. I just renamed it a few days ago (leaving a redirect behind) to include the "Submissions\" prefix as all other submissions. What do you mean when you say it disappears? Harel 11:25, 1 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

It seems it is there to stay. Good. I meant that I couldn't see it anymore in the Category. Like if the page was not included in it. It was weird because it happened twice. But now it is ok. Thanks. --Micrib 23:05, 1 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, but this morning it disappeared again from the category list and they went back again. It switched from 38 to 25 and now they are all back again. I think the best solution might be change the title to "Ethnocentrism in Wikipedia - Study of the autoreferentiality" if you don't mind, because I think it is the ":" which interfers. Thanks! --Micrib 11:09, 2 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Weird. Please change. Harel 11:42, 2 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

I can't! Would you mind doing this pagename change into the name I told you? Can you see now just 25 and other times all of them (38)? I'm starting to feel like it's me who has a problem...haha not a good sensation. Regards, thank you. --Micrib 07:57, 3 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Volunteering: Further info

I wrote on your page a few months ago, but I have been considering it, and I have a few more inquiries. Are dorms going to be provided for us, or do we have to book our own hotel rooms, or pay for the dorms? Is food going to be provided, or are we expected to pay for it on our own? Please let me know about where we will be staying, because if dorms are not provided I need to hurry up and book a room now, because the prices for the available hotels are high, and they are getting booked fast. I was also wondering if a certificate of some sort could be given to me? See, I am in high-school, and volunteering activities such as these are appreciated when applying for a university. Thank you very much.--Του Δημήτρη 18:30, 13 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

My itinerary

Thanks for looking over it and for you comments. However, since I'm currently abroad, I don't really have time to deal with that right now. And since the main "organizer" of that tour is User:Nemo_bis, you should definitely contact him with suggestions. I know he's trying to find a suitable transport and schedule that would be best for us and enable us to see as much as possible. Thanks, Dungodung 19:57, 15 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Problems with the email server?

I just tried to reply to your email but the email returns back. -- Magioladitis 14:48, 22 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

It's an unfortunate typo - it's supposed to read wikimania-registration@wikimedia.org. Harel 14:50, 22 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
Typo to the Sender: too? Lol. -- Magioladitis 14:53, 22 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
