Merging infodesk, lounge, and forum

Until there's a need for all three, how about merging the infodesk, lounge and forum? Sj 10:34, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm all for it. The KISS principle. Harel 11:06, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Political spam

It seems that there are a number of people using the information desk to spread anti-Israel propaganda and call for boycotts of WM2011. Since the top of the page indicates that the information desk is for asking questions about Wikimania 2011, these comments appear to be very much outside of the scope of this page. Should these comments be removed? --Yair rand 19:18, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well, technically you are right, but in practice we try to be very tolerant, even when comments are not within scope and even to this kind of comments. If a person asks a question, I always answer seriously and informatively, because you never know - a question that seems provocative, could be asked in good faith. If a person writes false information, I correct it with a comment of my own informatively. I delete comments only if they are repetitive and obviously disruptive, or if they include improper or purely political language (political language is fine, but indeed beyond the scope of this page).
